Women's Hockey Edged By #6/8 Clarkson, 1-0
October 28, 2023 | Women's Ice Hockey
Facing its second ranked opponent of the weekend, #14/14 Princeton went toe-to-toe with #6/8 Clarkson in Cheel Arena, but came up just short in a 1-0 loss in the North Country.
Nicole Gosling scored for the Golden Knights just past the midway mark of the first period, and that marker was enough for the hosts. Her goal at the 10:36 mark of the first period was assisted by Haley Winn and Brooke McQuigge
Uma Corniea made 24 saves for Princeton, stopping the last 21 shots she faced over the final 49:24 of play.
Princeton tilted the ice a bit in the third period in search of the equalizier, but a furious push with an extra skater was turned away by Clarkson.
The Tigers return to Baker Rink on November 3 (Harvardl; 6 p.m.) and November 4 (Dartmouth; 3 p.m.)
