O'Leary Scores Twice as No. 14 Princeton Opens Mercyhurst Series With Win

Jane Kuehl and Stefanie Wallace bookended a pair of Emerson O'Leary goals as the No. 14-ranked Princeton women's hockey team was a 4-3 winner over Mercyhurst on Friday to open the teams' two-game series at Baker Rink.
Princeton and Mercyhurst will get together again at 1 p.m. Saturday to finish the series.
Mercyhurst never led, nor was the game tied after Princeton opened the scoring with Kuehl's goal late in the first period. Princeton's got O'Leary's first goal in the first minute of the second period before Mercyhurst's Sara Boucher answered less than six minutes into the frame, and Princeotn entered the final period with a 2-1 lead.
O'Leary had her second less than seven minutes into the third to put Princeton up 3-1, and the teams combined for three goals over the final five minutes. An Olivia Cvar goal started the late stretch for Mercyhurst to pull the Lakers within 3-2, and after Wallace's goal with just less than four minutes to play, Sofia Nuutinen capitalized on a 6-on-4 chance for Mercyhurst with 25 seconds to go to get Mercyhurst back within a goal at 4-3.
