Ivy League Honors Caden Pierce as Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Ivy League announced its first round of weekly awards for 2023-24 Monday afternoon and sophomore Caden Pierce of the Princeton University men's basketball team was honored as Player of the Week after leading the Tigers to a 2-0 start to the season.

Pierce, the 2023 Ivy League Rookie of the Year, helped the Tigers earn a 68-61 victory over Rutgers on Nov. 6 in Trenton, New Jersey, along with a 74-67 win over Hofstra in Hempstead, New York, on Nov. 10.

Across Princeton's two victories Pierce averaged 17.0 points-per-game along with 15.0 rebounds. He also tallied six assists, four steals and two blocks.

In the Tigers' win over Hofstra, Pierce finished with eight points, a game-high 15 rebounds, four assists, tying his career-high, along with two steals. He followed that up with a game and career-high 26 points on 9-for-18 shooting, a game-high 15 rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in Princeton's triumph over Hofstra.
