Raleigh, N.C. - The 2023 outdoor season is off to an exciting start for the Tiger women's track and field team.
Princeton ended the final day of the Raleigh Relays with several strong performances on the track and field at the Paul Derr Track & Field Facility to wrap up a successful campaign in Raleigh.
Saturday Field Events
Freshman Alexandra Kelly continues to impress in the jumps. On Saturday in the long jump, Kelly completed a 5.84m leap to take a fourth-place finish overall. Tia Rozario also had a solid performance in Raleigh, finishing with a mark of 5.63m.
Annika Kelly was the top Tiger in the hammer throw on Saturday, executing a 59.23m toss to finish in sixth place.
Teammate Katie Peterson finished in ninth place with a mark of 57.25m. Peterson's result earns herself a spot on the Princeton all-time performances list at No. 5.
Saturday Track Events
The squad of Lily Parris, Brianna Mponzi, Harlowe Brumett-Dunn, and Olivia Hee put on a great display of teamwork in the 4x100 m relay to cross the finish line at 46.71 to take seventh place. The squad's result will also tie for No. 8 all-time on the Princeton performances list.
In the 200m, three Tigers recorded personal bests including Bri Mponzi (24.59), Adelaide Asante (24.68), and Lily Parris (25.16).
Arianna Smith also raced in the 200m on Saturday to finish strong at 24.74.
Paola Rodriguez was another Tiger to record a new PR in Raleigh. In the 800m, Rodriguez finished in 2:11.68 on Saturday to wrap up the Raleigh Relays with a new personal best.
