Women's Lightweight Rowing Opens Season At Radcliffe

PRINCETON – The two-time defending national champion Princeton women's lightweight rowing begins its 2023 season at Radcliffe on Saturday.
The Tigers have won the last three Class of 1998 Cups over Radcliffe dating back to 2018. Last year, Princeton dropped Radcliffe by almost five seconds.
The Tigers had three All-Americans last year in Lily Feinerman, Sarah Fry and Margaret Murphy who were on the varsity eight that won the IRA national title.
Princeton's varsity eight jumped out to a lead and kept its distance as Stanford and Georgetown made pushes. With 500m to go, the Hoyas trailed by three seconds, but could only get with a second and half as the Tigers crossed the finish line with the top time (6:55.88). Princeton's boat did not lose a race all season.
It was the second straight IRA gold for the varsity eight and eighth overall. The Tigers also took home the IRA women's lightweight team trophy for the first time in program history
