Bold's Walkoff Highlights Baseball's Rally Over Columbia, 10-9

PRINCETON – Jake Bold's walkoff single highlighted a Princeton Baseball 10-9 comeback victory over the Columbia Lions at Clarke Field on Friday evening.

Eric Marasheski led off the bottom of the ninth with a walk and moved to second base on a single by Brendan Cumming. An error loaded the bases before Bold hit a ball off the first baseman's glove and brought in Marasheski for the victory.

Columbia started the scoring with three runs in the second led by Andy Blake's two-run single with two out.

Princeton wasted no time responding in its half of the second inning. Scott Bandura extended his hitting streak to 13 games with a solo home run to right field.

Noah Granet singled to right field to bring in the Tigers' second run before Matt Scannell came up with a clutch two-out two-run triple to right center field to put the home team back ahead. Marasheski added an RBI single to make it 5-3 Princeton.

Columbia jumped back ahead with three runs paced by two-run single by Jack Kail with two out. The Lions added on to their advantage with a Weston Eberly run-scoring hit in the fourth frame.

Two fielders' choices in the bottom of the fourth tied the game at 7-all.

Columbia went back ahead with a home run from Eberly in the sixth stanza and a fielders' choice in the seventh.

Caden Shapiro got the Tigers back within one on an RBI groundout before Granet's second RBI single of the game tied the score at 9-all before Princeton's thrilling ninth inning.

This was Princeton's first walk off win since last May against Monmouth.

Nick DiPietrantonio, Scannell and Granet each had multiple hits with Granet's three leading the Tigers. Justin Kim threw the final 2 1/3 innings of work to collect the win.

Princeton and Columbia will play in a doubleheader on Sunday starting at 11:30 a.m.
