Harvard Earns Doubleheader Sweep Over Baseball

Harvard 11, Princeton 8
A wind-aided double provided the Crimson with its first run in the first inning before the home team put up four more runs in the second.
Logan Bravo's two-run home run made it a seven-run contest in the fourth while a two-run single by George Cooper set the score at 9-0.
The Tigers did not go away despite the deficit.
Caden Shapiro got Princeton the board with an RBI double to left center in the sixth. One inning later, Scott Bandura and Carlos Abello produced RBIs before a wild pitch made it 9-4. Jake Koonin ripped a run-producing base hit to left field, getting the Tigers within four.
Princeton had one more push in the eighth. Bandura lined a double down the right field line to score Eric Marasheski while a Nick DiPietrantonio run-scoring single got the Tigers within two, 9-7.
Harvard tacked on two more insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth.
Marasheski's RBI double in the ninth closed the scoring.
Bandura had three hits and three stolen bases (one shy of tying the program record) in the contest while Brendan Cumming and Koonin each had two knocks. Princeton pitchers combined to strikeout 11 hitters in the loss.

Bandura came around to score on a wild pitch from second base to put Princeton in front, 1-0, in the second inning.
Matt Scannell blasted a two-run four bagger over the left field fence extending the Tigers' lead to three.
A two-run double, sacrifice fly and RBI groundout put the Crimson ahead, 4-3, in the bottom of the third stanza.
Jake Bold's run-scoring single tied the game in the top of the fifth, but a balk gave Harvard the advantage in the next half frame.
Marasheski countered with a two-out, two-run single in the top of the sixth, but Harvard scored four times in the bottom of the stanza. The Tigers got one runner in scoring position over the final three at-bats.
Princeton heads to Philadelphia next weekend to take on Penn. The Tigers welcome Seton Hall to Clarke Field on Wednesday with first pitch set for 3 p.m.
