
Sondre Guttormsen Sets New Pole Vault School Record for Men's Track and Field at Texas Invitational

The Princeton men's track and field team had a successful weekend, competing at both the TCNJ Invite and the Texas Invitational.
At the Texas Invitational, Sondre Guttormsen had a standout, PR performance in the Pole Vault, setting a new school and Ivy League record, as well as the new world lead. Guttormsen's vault of 5.90m is a new Norwegian outdoor record and currently ranks as the highest vault in the NCAA.
His brother, Simon Guttormsen, also had a solid performance, placing seventh with a vault of 5.20m.
At the TCNJ Invite, the Tigers impressed in the throwing events. In the Men's Discus Throw, Casey Helm led the way with a throw of 54.48m, followed by Avery Shunneson with a throw of 50.63m. Joe Licata also placed fourth with a throw of 48.43m.
In the Men's Shot Put, Tyler Konopka had an impressive throw of 17.32m to take the top spot, with Casey Helm not far behind in second place with a throw of 16.34m. Joe Licata also placed in the top three with a throw of 16.20m.

The Tigers will compete in the 2023 Outdoor Heptagonal Championships next weekend on Franklin Field in Philadelphia from Saturday May 6th to Sunday May 7th.
