Heavies Have 4- Boat Reach Henley Semifinals

HENLEY ON THAMES – The Princeton Men's Heavyweight Team will have one boat racing in the Henley Royal Regatta semifinals after Friday's action.
Princeton's 4- of Floyd Benedikter, Stephane Pienaar, Nick Taylor and James Quinlan advanced to the semifinals of the Visitors' Challenge Cup after beating Cambridge by 2/3 lengths (7:03). They will take on Leander at 7:30 local time and 2:30 ET on Saturday.
The men's lightweight 8+ boat of Lazlo Wenk, John High, George Middleton, Charlie Miller, Robert Powell, Keelan Good, Patrick Shaw, Jelmer Bennema and Laney Gold-Rappe were defeated in the quarterfinals of the Temple Challenge Cup by Oxford Brookes University 'B' by 2/3 of a length (6:41).
The Leander Club took down The Tigers' women's' open crew boat of Hannah Diaz, Lucy Koven, Anne du Croo de Jongh, Katharine Kalap, Zoe Scheske, Camille VanderMeer, Margot LeRoux, Cordelia Mahony and Ella Barry by 1 ¼ lengths (7:26).
David Van Velden and Hidde Lycklama fell in the first round of the Double Sculls Challenge Cup to BJ Ellery and Victor Kelshnev by 1 ½ lengths (7:51).
Princeton heavyweight alum Tom George '18 and Ollie Wynne Griffith took down the Isis Boat Club in the Silver Goblets and Nickalls Challenge Cup by 2 ¼ lengths (8:03) and will race an alumni boat from Yale tomorrow at 3:50 pm local time and 10:50 a.m. ET.
Another heavyweight alum Dan DeGroot '19 races with the Canada 4x crew against A.Z.S. Torun & W.T.W. Wloclawek of Poland in the first round of the Queen Mother Challenge Cup tomorrow at 11:40 am local and 6:40 am ET.
