No. 5 Heavyweight Rowing Sends 1V & 3V To Grand Finals At IRAs

CAMDEN, N.J. – The No. 5 Princeton University heavyweight rowing team sent the 1V and 3V to Grand Finals Saturday at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) National Championship Saturday at the Cooper River.
The 1V became Grand Final bound after finishing third (5:30.060) in the A/B semifinal in a race that came down to the final moments. Little separated the Tigers and Northeastern (5:30.980) for the entirety of the race, but Princeton was able to cross the finish line ahead of the Huskies to secure a spot in the Grand Final.
After finishing third in its A/B semifinal, the 3V (5:35.810) will also have the opportunity to race for a medal tomorrow after edging Brown (5:35.970) for a spot in the Grand Final. The Tigers finished just behind Cal (5:33.070) and Washington (5:32.450).
The 2V (5:37.200) earned a spot in the Petite Final after finishing fourth in the A/B semifinal. The Tigers narrowly missed out on advancing to the Grand Final, finishing just behind the Bears (5:36.400).
The 4+ (6:22.120) took second in the Petite Final after finishing just behind St. Joseph's (6:20.690). The Tigers finished ahead of Jacksonville (6:23.540) in a close finish between the top three boats.
