PRINCETON, N.J. – After four-consecutive home matches, the Princeton University women's volleyball team hits the road for matches at Columbia inside Levien Gymnasium on Mar. 18 and Cornell inside Newman Arena on Mar. 19.
Last Time Out
The Tigers earned a weekend sweep, first taking down Harvard, 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 27-25) on Oct. 11 then Dartmouth, 3-1 (25-23, 25-23, 16-25, 25-17) on Oct. 12.
Potential Milestone Moment
Head Coach Sabrina King currently has 199 career victories. A win over Columbia would be her 200th.
The Sabrina King File
King, who enters her 13th season as head coach. She has guided Princeton to five Ivy League titles, three NCAA Tournament appearances and has been named Ivy Coach of the Year three times. Throughout her tenure as head coach, King has coached four Ivy League Players of the Year and 44 All-Ivy honorees. A member of the Class of 2001 at Princeton, she won three Ivy titles as a player, was the 1999 Ivy Player of the Year and was a three-time All-Ivy selection.

Chaney's Strong Start To 2024
Sophomore Kamryn Chaney has gotten off to a strong start in 2024 as she leads the Ivy League in points-per-set (4.97), and kills (4.26), ranking 22nd and 25th nationally. Chaney also leads the Ivy League in service aces (23) and ranks second in service aces-per-set (0.40).
A Historic Performance By Chaney
Chaney delivered a historic performance against High Point on Sept. 21. She recorded 34 kills, 15 assists, two blocks and one service ace. Chaney's 34 kills were the most by an Ivy League player since Oct. 11, 2014, when Penn's Maddie Lord had 23 against Brown. According to available records, her 34 kills are tied for the second-most kills in a match by an Ivy League player. Only Ashley Dean of Dartmouth has had more, when she had 35 against Harvard on Oct. 21, 2000.
One Of The Nation's Elite Hitters
Chaney's 34 kills are the third-most kills in a five-set match by any player in 2024. Only Hawaii's Caylen Alexander (38) have more and California's Maggie Li (37).
Chaney Named Ivy Player Of The Week
In the Tigers' three matches at the Penn State Invitational, Chaney led the team in kills with 56, digs with 37 and recorded 10 blocks along with five service aces. She averaged 4.31 kills-per-set, 2.85 digs-per-set and 0.77 blocks-per-set. Against St. John's on Sept. 14, Chaney had career and match-highs in kills (25), digs (16) and blocks (seven). Earlier that morning, Chaney also had a double-double against Duke with 19 kills, 15 digs and two service aces. Against the No. 3 Nittany Lions on Sept. 15, she recorded 12 kills, six digs and three service aces.
Weekly Awards Sweep
Princeton swept the Ivy League's weekly awards on Oct. 14, with junior Lucia Scalamandre being named Player of the Week and freshman Jackie Onyechi Rookie of the Week.
Scalamandre averaged 3.14 kills-per-set (22 total kills) on a .390 hitting percentage, 1.14 blocks-per-set (eight total blocks) and had seven digs and one service ace. Against the Big Green, she hit .320 and had 13 kills, six digs, one block and one service ace. Against the Crimson, Scalamandre hit .500 and had nine kills, seven blocks and one dig.
Onyechi averaged 2.43 kills-per-set (17 total kills) on a .536 hitting percentage, 1.57 blocks-per-set (11 total blocks) and had two digs. Against Dartmouth, Onyechi hit .632 and had 13 kills, six blocks and two digs. Against Harvard, Onyechi hit .333 and had four kills, five blocks.

Scalamandre ranks No. 5 in NCAA DI in active career leaders in hitting percentage (.384).
Scalamandre's Impact
Scalamandre, a two-time All-Ivy honoree and the 2022 Ivy Rookie of the Year, ranks fourth in the conference in hitting percentage (.355), seventh in blocks-per-set (0.96) and ninth in points-per-set (3.21).

Two Of The Highest Assist Totals In The Nation
Along with being a career-high and the most assists in a match by an Ivy League player in 2024, senior Gracie Wood's 59 assists against UMBC were the 26th-most assists in a five-set match this season.
Onyechi Off To A Strong Start
Freshman Jackie Onyechi leads the Ivy League in hitting percentage (.432) and ranks fourth in blocks-per-set (1.13).
One Of The Ivy League's Top Defensive Players
Sophomore Sydney Bold ranks fourth in the Ivy League in digs-per-set (3.37).
Villanova Classic All-Tournament Team
Sophomore duo Bold and Erin McNair were named to the Villanova Classic All-Tournament Team.
Bold recorded 36 digs, 21 assists and three service aces in the Tigers' three matches. She had her first career double-double against Loyola with 18 digs and a career-high 10 assists to go with two service aces. Bold also tallied 11 digs, six assists and one service ace against Villanova. Additionally, she finished with seven digs and five assists against the Monarchs.
McNair totaled 31 kills, 21 digs, three blocks and two service aces. Against the Greyhounds she recorded a career-high 15 kills, five digs, and one block while she tallied 10 digs, eight kills and two service aces against ODU. Against Villanova, McNair had eight kills, six digs and two blocks.
Scouting Columbia
The Lions have a 3-11 record on the season and are 0-5 in Ivy play. Most recently, Columbia fell to Yale on Oct. 12 in New Haven on Oct. 12, 3-1 (25-15, 19-25, 25-20, 25-22).
Scouting Cornell
The Big Red are 9-5 in 2024 and 3-2 in Ivy play. In its most recent match, Cornell overcame Brown, 3-0 (25-16, 27-25, 26-24) in Providence, Rhode Island, on Oct. 12. Prior to its match with Princeton, Cornell will host the University of Pennsylvania at 7 p.m. on Oct. 18.
