Sabrina King Earns 200th Career Victory As Women's Volleyball Sweeps Columbia, 3-0

NEW YORK – Sabrina King earned her 200th career victory as a head coach Friday night inside Levien Gymnasium, as the Princeton University women's volleyball team earned a straight sets win at Columbia, 3-0 (25-19, 25-13, 25-12).
King's 200 career wins add to an impressive list of coaching accolades that include five Ivy League titles, three NCAA Tournament appearances, three Ivy League Coach of the Year awards and four Ivy League Players of the Year coached.
As a team, the Tigers recorded a season-high .476 hitting percentage.
In Princeton's 12th-straight win over the Lions, sophomore Kamryn Chaney led the way with a match-high 16 kills on a .355 hitting percentage, four digs, a match-high two service aces, tying with sophomore Erin McNair, and two blocks. Junior Lucia Scalamandre hit .667 and tallied nine kills and a match-high three blocks while freshman Jackie Onyechi recorded nine kills on a .463 hitting percentage and three blocks, tying the match-high with Scalamandre. Sophomore Sydney Draper handed out a match-high 38 assists and had nine digs, and sophomore Sydney Bold led the match in digs with 13.
The first set was played to a stalemate at 7-7, but an Onyechi kill sparked a 4-0 run that put the Tigers ahead, 11-7. With Princeton up 16-14, a pair of Lion errors along with a service ace by McNair gave the Tigers a 19-14 advantage. A senior Shelby Fulton kill gave the Tigers set point at 24-19 before Columbia attacking error made it a 25-19 opening set.
With the score knotted a 5-5 in the second set, a Fulton kill sparked a 7-0 run that saw Princeton surge ahead, 12-5. Shortly after, a kill by junior Valerie Nutakor ignited an 8-0 run that gave the Tigers a 20-7 advantage. An emphatic kill by Fulton on set point saw Princeton go up 2-0 in the match and earn a 25-13 second set triumph.
Princeton opened the third set on a 6-0 run and did not look back from there. An Onyechi kill followed by a Lion attacking error then a kill by Scalamandre extended the Tigers' lead to double figures at 12-2 as the set continued to be all Tigers. Nutakor put down a kill to give Princeton match point at 24-12, then Scalamandre crushed the ball down the middle, giving the Tigers a 25-12 victory in the third set along with a 3-0 sweep in the match.
