CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Princeton University heavyweight rowing team opened 2024-25 at the Head of the Charles Sunday afternoon, competing in both the Championship Fours and Championship Eights.
"It was a solid day of racing for all of our boats," said Head Coach Greg Hughes. "The events were all very tightly packed and the results showed how competitive our league is shaping up to be this year. That's very exciting to see and it will make for some great racing in two weeks at the Chase."
The Tigers' 4+ boat of Joseph Cutaia, Sam Kleiner, Nicholas McAdam, Matthew Wagner and Matthew Cashman placed third with a time of 15:47.93. The B fours, consisting of Kate Ellis, Owen Rulyak, Alex Kawaja, Daniel Cashman and Noah Silverstein finished 12th in 16:32.33.
In the 8+, the A boat of Connor Neil, Trygve Bye Loken, Kian Aminian, Ed Nutt, Patrick Shaw, Marcus Chute, Patrick Long, Zachary Vachal and Theodore Bell earned a seventh-place finish with a time of 14:03.69. The B boat of Maile Organek, Joshua Yin, Nic Rath, Andrew Nolan, Nathan Fineman, Tristan Wenger, Andrew Wilkinson, George Lathrop and Alexander Perkins finished 14:16.67 and took 18th.
