PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University women's volleyball team takes a break from Ivy League at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 26 to host Big East opponent (RV) Marquette.
Last Time Out
Princeton completed a second-straight weekend sweep, earning a 3-0 (25-19, 25-13, 25-12) victory at Columbia on along with a 3-1 (21-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-10) victory at Cornell on Oct. 19.
Milestone Moment
Head Coach Sabrina King earned her 200th career victory at Columbia on Oct. 19.
The Sabrina King File
King, who enters her 13th season as head coach. She has guided Princeton to five Ivy League titles, three NCAA Tournament appearances and has been named Ivy Coach of the Year three times. Throughout her tenure as head coach, King has coached four Ivy League Players of the Year and 44 All-Ivy honorees. A member of the Class of 2001 at Princeton, she won three Ivy titles as a player, was the 1999 Ivy Player of the Year and was a three-time All-Ivy selection.

Chaney's Strong Start To 2024
Sophomore Kamryn Chaney has gotten off to a strong start in 2024 as she leads the Ivy League in points-per-set (5.12), and kills (4.41), ranking 17th and 19th nationally. Chaney also leads the Ivy League in service aces (26) and service aces-per-set (0.41).
A Historic Performance By Chaney
Chaney delivered a historic performance against High Point on Sept. 21. She recorded 34 kills, 15 assists, two blocks and one service ace. Chaney's 34 kills were the most by an Ivy League player since Oct. 11, 2014, when Penn's Maddie Lord had 23 against Brown. According to available records, her 34 kills are tied for the second-most kills in a match by an Ivy League player. Only Ashley Dean of Dartmouth has had more, when she had 35 against Harvard on Oct. 21, 2000.
One Of The Nation's Elite Hitters
Chaney's 34 kills are the fourth-most kills in a five-set match by any player in 2024.
A Two-Time Ivy Player Of The Week
Chaney was honored as Ivy Player of the Week on Oct. 21. Through the Tigers' victories over Columbia and Cornell, she averaged 5.57 kills-per-set (39 total kills) on a .382 hitting percentage and 2.14 digs-per-set (15 total digs) while also recording three service aces and three blocks. Against the Lions she had 16 kills on a .355 hitting percentage, four digs, twos service aces and two blocks. She followed that up with 23 kills on a .400 hitting percentage, 11 digs, one service ace and one dig against the Big Red. Chaney was also named Ivy League Player of the Week on Sept. 16.
Weekly Awards Sweep
Princeton swept the Ivy League's weekly awards on Oct. 14, with junior Lucia Scalamandre being named Player of the Week and freshman Jackie Onyechi Rookie of the Week.
Scalamandre averaged 3.14 kills-per-set (22 total kills) on a .390 hitting percentage, 1.14 blocks-per-set (eight total blocks) and had seven digs and one service ace. Against the Big Green, she hit .320 and had 13 kills, six digs, one block and one service ace. Against the Crimson, Scalamandre hit .500 and had nine kills, seven blocks and one dig.
Onyechi averaged 2.43 kills-per-set (17 total kills) on a .536 hitting percentage, 1.57 blocks-per-set (11 total blocks) and had two digs. Against Dartmouth, Onyechi hit .632 and had 13 kills, six blocks and two digs. Against Harvard, Onyechi hit .333 and had four kills, five blocks.

Scalamandre ranks No. 3 in NCAA DI in active career leaders in hitting percentage (.383).
Scalamandre's Impact
Scalamandre, a two-time All-Ivy honoree and the 2022 Ivy Rookie of the Year, ranks fifth in the conference in hitting percentage (.356), eighth in blocks-per-set (0.93) and ninth in points-per-set (3.20).
Onyechi Off To A Strong Start
Onyechi leads the Ivy League in hitting percentage (.456) and ranks fifth in blocks-per-set (1.09).
Assist Leader
Sophomore Sydney Draper, the 2023 Ivy League Rookie of the Year, ranks second in the Ivy League in assists-per-set (9.62).
One Of The Ivy League's Top Defensive Players
Sophomore Sydney Bold ranks fourth in the Ivy League in digs-per-set (3.34).
Villanova Classic All-Tournament Team
Sophomore duo Bold and Erin McNair were named to the Villanova Classic All-Tournament Team.
Bold recorded 36 digs, 21 assists and three service aces in the Tigers' three matches. She had her first career double-double against Loyola with 18 digs and a career-high 10 assists to go with two service aces. Bold also tallied 11 digs, six assists and one service ace against Villanova. Additionally, she finished with seven digs and five assists against the Monarchs.
McNair totaled 31 kills, 21 digs, three blocks and two service aces. Against the Greyhounds she recorded a career-high 15 kills, five digs, and one block while she tallied 10 digs, eight kills and two service aces against ODU. Against Villanova, McNair had eight kills, six digs and two blocks.
Scouting (RV) Marquette
The Golden Eagles are receiving 34 votes in the most recent American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) national poll, and are 11-6 overall and 7-1 in Big East play. Most recently, Marquette defeated Xavier, 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-14), on oct. 20 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Golden Eagles advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2023.
