Women's Volleyball Completes Season Sweep Of Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H. – The Princeton University women's volleyball team completed the season sweep of Dartmouth Friday night inside Leede Arena, 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-16).
Sophomore Kamryn Chaney led the match with 15 kills on a .344 hitting percentage and added a match-high 11 digs as she recorded her 11th double-double of the season. Freshman Jackie Onyechi added a career-high 12 kills on a .625 hitting percentage and had four blocks, while sophomore Sydney Draper recorded a match-high 32 assists. Sophomore Sydney Bold had a match-high three service aces and junior Lucia Scalamandre led the match in blocks with six.
The Big Green raced out to a 4-1 lead in the first set, but a Chaney kill led a 4-0 Princeton run that put the Tigers in front, 5-4. Dartmouth would battle back to take a 14-12 advantage, but a kill by Chaney ignited a 6-0 that saw the Tiger surge ahead, 18-14. The Tigers did not look back from there, prevailing in the first set, 25-22.
With the score tied at 4-4 in the second set, a kill by senior Shelby Fulton followed by back-to-back Bold service aces made it 7-4 Princeton's way. While Dartmouth was able to keep it close throughout the set, with the Tigers up 21-19 a kill by junior Valerie Nutakor than a block by Scalamandre extended Princeton's lead to 23-19. Onyechi put down the kill on set point as the Tigers went up 2-0 in the match after a 25-21 second set victory.
A kill by Draper led a 6-1 run which Princeton would open the third set on. Much like the second set, Dartmouth did enough to keep it close throughout the set. With Princeton ahead 19-16, a kill by Chaney sparked a 6-0 run that the Tigers closed the set out on. Similarly to the second set, match point came courtesy of Onyechi as the Tigers earned the 25-16 victory in the third set along with a 3-0 victory in the match.
