St. Rose Leads Women's Basketball Over DePaul, 79-58

CHICAGO – The Princeton Women's Basketball Team rallied to easily dispose of the DePaul Blue Demons, 79-58, at the Wintrust Arena on Saturday afternoon.
After Princeton scored the first four points of the contest, DePaul ripped off seven straight to jump in front and eventually took a 19-14 lead after 10 minutes.
The Tigers trailed by seven in the second quarter, trailing 26-19, before seven consecutive points tied the contest with 4:14 to go. Head coach Carla Berube's team ran off a 10-0 run to finish off the first half and take a 37-31 advantage.
Princeton opened up the second half with buckets from Madison St. Rose, Fadima Tall and Tabitha Amanze to push out its lead to 12, 43-31.
Berube's unit finished off the contest with an 11-0 sprint to go up 19, 54-35, with 2:14 left in the third quarter. The Blue Demons never got closer than 18 the rest of the way.
St. Rose led all scorers with 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting, adding six rebounds and two steals. Ashley Chea contributed 11 points, five dimes and three steals while Amanze put up nine points, five caroms and four blocks in 18 minutes of action off the bench.
Princeton improves to 1-1 overall and hosts Villanova on Wednesday. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
