Caden Pierce Earns Trio Of Weekly Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. – Junior Caden Pierce of the Princeton University men's basketball team was named Lute Olson National Player of the Week, one of five Oscar Robertson Trophy National Players of the Week along with Ivy League Player of the Week for the sixth time in his career after leading Princeton to an 83-82 victory over Big Ten opponent Rutgers in the Never Forget Tribute Classic inside Prudential Center on Dec. 21.

The Oscar Robertson Trophy National Player of the Week honorees are chosen by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA). The Lute Olson National Player of the Week Award is presented by collegeinsider.com. Pierce was also named to the Lute Olson National Player of the Year Early-Season Watch List in November.

Pierce recorded his 24th career double-double and led the Tigers with 21 points 10-for-17 shooting and grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds, which included a game-high seven offensive rebounds in the victory over Rutgers. Pierce's layup with 00:05 on the clock and Princeton down by one pushed the Tigers ahead of the Scarlet Knights, sealing the 83-82 triumph for the Princeton.

In the 2023-24 season Pierce was honored as Player of the Week on Nov. 13, Dec. 4, Jan. 2, Mar. 4 and Mar. 11.
