Trauber Wins CSA Holleran South Draw as Season Comes to a Close
March 10, 2024 | Women's Squash
Emma Trauber closed the Princeton women's squash team's season with a win on Sunday as the Tiger rookie and All-Ivy League honoree won the Holleran South draw at the CSA individual championships at the Specter Center in Philadelphia on Sunday.
Trauber is the first Tiger to win one of the Holleran draws since current senior Caroline Spahr won the Holleran East draw during her Ivy Rookie of the Year season in 2020. On the way to the draw title, Trauber dropped two close games to Columbia's Erica McGillicuddy to start, 12-10 and 13-11, before winning three straight elimination games, 11-8, 11-5 and 11-9.
Nine Tigers competed in the event. In the Ramsay Cup, Zeina Zein made the semifinals with Liyen Teoh finishing in the consolation quarterfinals. Molly Chadwick finished runner-up in the Holleran North draw on Sunday. In the Holleran South draw, along with Trauber's win, Katherine Sapinski was a consolation semifinalist. Sisters India Stephenson and Lucy Stephenson were both quarterfinalists in the Holleran East draw, and in the Holleran West draw, Charlotte Bell was a semifinalist and Josephine Klein made the consolation final.
Princeton made the CSA team final this season for the first time since 2020, and Zein, Teoh and Trauber all earned All-Ivy honors with Zein as the Ivy Rookie of the Year. From the lineup in the CSA final against Trinity, Princeton will graduate three in Katherine Glaser from the fifth position, India Stephenson from the sixth and Caroline Spahr from the ninth.
