KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced its 2023-24 All-District Teams Tuesday morning and sophomores Caden Pierce & Xaivian Lee of the Princeton University men's basketball team garnered First Team honors for District 13.
Pierce, the 2024 Ivy League Player of the Year, was also a unanimous First Team All-Ivy honoree and was named to the Lou Henson National Player of the Year Award Mid-Season Watch List. Pierce was named Ivy League Player of the Week five times and Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) Player of the Week twice in 2023-24. Pierce's defensive rebound percentage of 27.6 ranks 15th nationally. His 7.39 defensive rebounds-per-game also rank 14th in the nation while his 9.3 rebounds rank 40th. Pierce's 14 double doubles rank 31st. He currently ranks second in the Ivy League in rebounding (9.3), fourth in assist/turnover ratio (2.0), sixth in scoring (15.7), sixth in free throw percentage (76.9), seventh in field goal percentage (54.6) and ninth in assists (3.2).
Lee, also a unanimous First Team All-Ivy honoree in 2023-24, was named to the Lute Olson National Player of the Year Award Mid-Season Watch List and to the Lou Henson Award Mid-Season Watch List. Lee was a two-time Ivy Player of the Week. Of players who have played a minimum of 40% of the team's minutes and are used on at least 28% of possessions, Lee's offensive rating of 116.6 ranks ninth in the nation. Lee ranks second in the Ivy League in assist/turnover ratio (2.5) third in scoring (17.3), fourth in assists (3.6), fifth in free throw percentage (80.8%) and eighth in rebounding (5.9).
