Baseball Welcomes Cornell To Clarke Field This Weekend

PRINCETON – The Princeton Baseball Team welcomes the Cornell Big Red to Clarke Field this weekend.
The two Ivy rivals will play a doubleheader Friday starting at 12 p.m., with Saturday's game set for 1 p.m. If Saturday's game cannot be played, the two will play Sunday at 12 p.m.
Princeton has won games over UNC Wilmington, Navy, Old Dominion and VCU so far.
Jake Koonin (.322) and Jake Bold (.321) lead the team in hitting while Caden Shapiro is not far behind them at .314. The Tigers are hitting .261 as a squad with 14 home runs paced by Nick DiPietranonio with three. Koonin has a quarter of the team's RBI with 22 and leads the Tigers in slugging as well (.559).
One season after hitting an Ivy League record 21 home runs, Kyle Vinci has two this season and 24 overall in his career. He's two shy of the Princeton career record of 26 by Matthew Evans '99.
Andrew D'Alessio has been the top pitcher for Princeton this season, posting a 2.45 ERA in 14 2/3 innings. Jacob Faulkner has been steady in the closer role, collecting a win, two saves and a 3.66 ERA in almost 20 frames.
Cornell is 2-9 this season with wins over Georgia Tech and Richmond. Nathan Waugh leads the team in hitting with .349 average and 1.010 OPS, adding three home runs and 11 RBI
