Weigel and Riches Earn CWPA Honors; Women's Water Polo Hosts Wagner Wednesday

PRINCETON – CJ Weigel and Charlotte Riches earned Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) weekly honors.
Weigel was named Defensive Player of the Week after posting 13 stops in the win over Iona. Riches had two goal and three steals in the 14-8 decision over the Gales. This is the first time Weigel has collected a CWPA weekly honor and the second Rookie of the Week selection for Riches.
The Tigers have won weekly CWPA awards in all but one of the weeks they've played in so far. Yelensky, Carroll, Carver, Weigel, Riches and Lindsey Lucas have won accolades this season.
No. 16 Princeton hosts No. 17 Wagner Wednesday at DeNunzio Pool at 6:30 p.m. Wagner is 22-3 this season with six ranked victories.
The Tigers are 15-6 this season with six ranked victories. Earlier this season, head coach Derek Ellingson's group won 13 straight games and currently sits with an 11-0 home record.
Kayla Yelensky paces Princeton with 49 goals along with 27 steals and 31 drawn ejections. She has 164 career goals which is three shy of the top ten in program history. Rachael Carver leads the team with 70 points, adding 25 tallies and 45 assists. Her 175 career assists are third in Princeton history, three of Lindsey Kelleher '19 for second.
The Tigers have 10 players with at least 10+ goals in Yelensky (49), Kaila Carroll (37), Carver (25), Meera Burghardt (23), Shanna Davidson (19), Kate Mallery (18), Olivia Krotts (15), Ava Houlahan (14), Riches (14), and Ally Lurie (13).
Lindsey Lucas and Weigel have combined to collect 218 saves and a .563 save percentage for Princeton.
