PRINCETON, NJ - The NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field and Cross Country Committee has announced that Tessa Mudd will represent the Princeton Tigers in this year's NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted in Boston, Massachusetts. Tessa will compete in the women's pole vault which is scheduled to take place on March 8th at 6:00 P.M.
At the 2024 Indoor Ivy Heptagonal Championships, Mudd finished first place in the pole vault and reclaimed her Ivy League Record with a PR jump of 4.39m (14'4.25). Two weeks prior to the indoor championship meet, Anastasia Retsa of Harvard took the indoor Ivy record from Mudd. On her final attempt two weekends ago, Mudd had to clear this bar to win the competition, and in doing so, she took back the Ivy record and qualified for the NCAA championship. The mark ranks the sophomore at 13th in the nation and also won her the most outstanding field performer of the meet.
Mudd captured 5 individual first place finishes this season at the Joe Handelman Invitational, Navy Dual, Villanova Invite, Dr. Sander Invitational, and the Princeton Invitational.
