Baseball Starts Spring Break Trip At Navy

PRINCETON – The Princeton Baseball Team begins its Spring Break trip at Navy this weekend.
The Tigers and Midshipmen will play a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. with a single game on Sunday at 1 p.m. Only the game on Sunday will be streamed on ESPN+.
Princeton is 1-5 this season having recently dropped a three-game set with No. 16 North Carolina. Caden Shapiro leads the team in hitting at .333 following a seven-hit series at UNC. He went 5-for-5 in Saturday's contest vs. the Tar Heels, one knock shy of the program record.
Jake Koonin is also hitting over .300 at .316, adding a team-best five RBI and four walks. Shapiro and Nick DiPietrantonio have the only home runs for the Tigers this season.
Jason Ramirez has been the best reliever for head coach Scott Bradley's squad, producing a 1.29 ERA in seven innings. Andrew D'Alessio (3.18) and Jacob Faulkner (3.60) also have ERAs under 4.00 in at least five frames of work.
Navy is 5-7 this season with victories over Elon, Delaware State, Iona, and UMBC. Brock Murtha leads the team in hitting at .400 and has a .650 slugging percentage with seven extra base hits. Tyler Grenn has 1.32 ERA in three starts for Midshipmen.
