PRINCETON – The No. 3 Princeton Women's Rowing Team finished off an impressive weekend as it took down No. 15 Rutgers and No. 20 USC on Saturday afternoon on Lake Carnegie.
"We're happy to host so many good teams and pull off some awesome racing in blustery conditions," said Princeton head coach Lori Dauphiny. "Everyone did a great job. Thanks to all the volunteers, rowing community and for USC for traveling across the country."
The Tigers' 1V continued its great start to 2024 with a 6:19.9, 5.9 seconds ahead of Rutgers (6:25.8) while USC was third (6:43.4).
The A Fours earned a 5.8-second conquest (7:22.6) over the Scarlet Knights (7:28.5) and the Trojans (7:46.2). The B Fours collected a 7:25.97, top time among Rutgers (7:41.0) and the C Fours (8:25.6).
The home team's 3V (6:49.85) and 4V (7:00.51) had the two fastest times in the final event of the day for Princeton.
"We still have more to work on, but it's exciting to see our team come together," added Dauphiny, "Winning the Class of 1975 Cup yesterday was so special. It was donated by one of the first classes of women at Princeton. They remain avid supporters and we are grateful for their leadership along the way."
Princeton will head on the road to take on No. 5 Yale next Saturday (Apr. 20).
