No. 3 Women's Crew Makes First Road Trip At No. 6 Yale Saturday
April 19, 2024 | Women's Rowing - Open
PRINCETON – The No. 3 Princeton Women's Rowing Team heads to Connecticut to take on the No. 6 Yale Bulldogs on the Housatonic River.
The Tigers' 1V already has victories over Brown, Harvard, Cornell, Rutgers and USC this season, having won each race by at least 3.2 seconds.
"Last weekend was a great opportunity to test our speed against crews from all over the country," said Ella Barry. "It was really run to see the boathouse packed with trailers and teams. We are fortunate to have such an amazing race course at Lake Carnegie and it was exciting to host the Ivy Invite at Princeton.
Last year, Princeton took down No. 1 Texas and No. 3 Yale on Lake Carnegie, ending Texas' 22-race winning streak in the process. This year, Princeton and Yale will race for the Eisenberg Cup, a cup head coach Lori Dauphiny's crew has won 12 straight times.
"We are on the road to our first away race at Yale and are eager to continue to race against strong competitors as we look forward to the Ivy League and NCAA Championships," said Barry. "It takes an entire boathouse to build a strong team and every Tiger is pushing hard, contributing to Princeton's speed and success as a fast and fun program!"
Princeton had three alumnae named to the U.S. Rowing Olympic Team in Claire Collins '19, Emily Kallfelz '19 and Kesley Reelick '14. They will race in either the four or eight boats.
Saturday Schedule:
8:30 a.m. 3V/4V
8:50 a.m. 2V
9:10 a.m. 1V
9:30 a.m. V4
9:50 a.m. 2/3V4
