One of the most decorated programs in Ivy League men's golf, Princeton heads to the 2024 Ivy League Championship at Watchung Valley as the defending champions in search of a 32nd team title,
The Tigers swept both the team and individual honors at last year's Ivy League Championship at the Stanwich Club, with Riccardo Fantinelli claiming medalist honors as Princeton won the team race by a convincing 18-stroke margin over Columbia.
The team win was the first for Princeton since 2019, and Fantinelli was Princeton's first medalist since Quinn Prchal in 2015.
Princeton enters the conference championship event in fine form, coming off two wins in its last two tournaments after claiming the Golden Horseshoe Invitational in Williamsburg and then defending home turf with a win in the Princeton Invitational at Springdale two weeks ago. The Princeton Invitational included all seven Ivy teams, with Columbia the closest Ivy team on the leaderboard to the Tigers with a 4th place finish -- 25 stroke behind Princeton's -9 team finish.
Princeton's Lineup At The Ivy League Championship
1. Riccardo Fantinelli
2. William Huang
3. Jackson Fretty
4. Charlie Palmer
5. Tommy Frist
The Tigers have a blend of experience and youth in their lineup this weekend. Fantinelli (medalist), Fretty (3rd), and Huang (4th) all were key factors in Princeton's win last year and subsequent NCAA Championships berth. Huang and Fretty will be making their third Ivy League Championships appearance. First-year players Palmer and Frist will be making their Ivy League Championship debuts, but have been key components of Princeton's lineup throughout the spring and have a chance to play key roles in the team total.
