Baseball Bashes Its Way To DH Sweep Over Dartmouth As Vinci Breaks Program HR Record

Even at 2-all, Matt Scannell (a name you'll hear a lot) singled through the right side to put the Tigers in front in the fourth inning.
Princeton added three more runs in the fifth frame highlighted be RBI knocks from Jordan Kelly and Jake Kernodle.
Jake Koonin's two-run double in the sixth extend the road team's lead to six, 8-2.
The Tigers scored four more times in the eighth with Scannell and Kyle Vinci dropping big flies.
Vinci's two-run shot broke the program's all-time career home run mark (27), a record set by Matt Evans '99 (26).

Scannell's five hits was a career high and was one short of tying the Princeton single-game record. He also added three runs and two RBI. The Tigers recorded 20 hits in the game, only the 18th time they have ever done that.
Will Sword threw eight strong innings, allowing three earned runs, collecting the win.
Princeton 11, Dartmouth 3
The Tigers opened the scoring in the first with RBI singles from Shapiro and Koonin.
RBI hits from Kaden Kram, Jake Bold and Nick DiPietrantonio push Princeton's advantage to seven in the sixth frame.
After a Dartmouth home run, Kernodle countered with a four-bagger of his own as the Tigers held an 8-1 lead.
After a pass ball plated Princeton's ninth run, a two-run single from Vinci gave the road unit a 10-run lead, 11-1.
Scannell finished off his day with four more hits to give him nine in the doubleheader. His nine hits in consecutive games are tied for the program's single-game watermark. The Tigers contributed 17 hits in their game two victory.
Elliot Eaton went six innings, scattering five hits while punching out six. Jacob Faulkner earned the save, going the final three frames.
Princeton goes for the series sweep Sunday. First pitch is set for 12 p.m.
