Baseball Travels To Dartmouth As Ivy Season Continues

PRINCETON – The Princeton Baseball Team makes the trip to Hanover, New Hampshire to take on the Dartmouth Big Green.
The two will play in a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 11:30 a.m. The final contest is Sunday at 12 p.m.
The Tigers are 13-21 overall and 8-7 in the Ivy League. They have collected victories over UNC Wilmington, Navy, Old Dominion, VCU, Cornell, Yale, Brown, Harvard, Penn and Wagner.
Head coach Scott Bradley's team took down Wagner, 8-6, on Wednesday behind Nick DiPietrantonio's two-run home run. .
Jake Koonin leads the team in hitting (.298), RBI (31), stole bases (seven) with Jake Bold (.294) and DiPietrantonio (.289) right behind Koonin in batting average. DiPietrantonio has four straight multi-hit games, adding nine RBI. Bold's 28 walks and .427 on-base percentage paces the squad while six different players have at least three home runs.
Jacob Faulkner was selected as the Ivy League Pitcher of the Week last week. The junior was the winning pitcher in both Tigers' victories over the Penn Quakers.
Faulkner corralled three strikeouts in three relief frames, allowing just one hit on Saturday. He started game three on Sunday (one day later), going six innings for the Tigers, giving up two hits. He struck out five hitters and faced just three batters over the minimum.
He's 6-1 this season in 16 appearances with a 3.11 ERA in 46 1/3 innings. Andrew D'Alessio closed out the game three win over Penn with just one earned run in three frames. He's got a 4.15 ERA in 30 1/3 innings.
Justin Kim (4.66 ERA) and Sean Episcope (7.03 ERA) have gone at least six innings in each of their last four starts. Episcope's 36 strikeouts in 32 innings are second on the team behind Faulkner's 37.
The Tigers are now third in the Ivy standings, trailing Columbia (12-3) and Cornell (10-5). Penn and Yale are one game back while Dartmouth and Harvard are 6-8. Princeton can clinch a spot in the Ivy League Tournament with a sweep over Dartmouth and Penn and Yale getting swept.
Dartmouth is 11-20 with a 6-9 mark in the conference. The Big Green have wins over Long Beach State, Loyola Marymount, California Baptist, Yale, UMass Lowell, Brown and Harvard. Elliot Krewson leads the team in hitting (.328).
