Women's Lightweight Rowing Drops Radcliffe, Collects Fifth Straight Class of 1999 Cup

PRINCETON – The Princeton Women's Lightweight Rowing Team began its 2024 season with a sweep on Lake Carnegie over Radcliffe on Saturday morning.

With a strong crosswind, the 2X began the action with an impressive 18.7-second victory (8:19.1-8:37.8). The varsity four responded with an 8:06.8, 2.5-seconds clear of the road squad (8:09.3).

The 1V collected its fifth straight Class of 1999 Cup, rowing across the line at 6:54.6, ahead by 3.3 seconds.

"I was proud of the poise our crews rowed with against some fast and aggressive boats from Radcliffe," said Princeton head coach Paul Rassam. "Our athletes handled the wind and intensity of the moment well. Next week will be another big challenge and we are looking forward to it.

Princeton travels across the country to take on Stanford next Saturday (Apr. 13).
