Jake Kernodle's RBI single in the second inning put the Tigers in front, 1-0, but the Hawks countered with a seven-run third frame highlighted by a three-run home run by Chris Andrews.
The road squad added single runs in the in the fourth, sixth and ninth innings.
A sacrifice fly from Jake Bold and RBI knock from Jake Koonin finished the scoring for the Tigers.
Kevin Blowers and Koonin had two hits each for Princeton. Jackson Baldrate threw a scoreless stanza in relief.
Princeton welcomes Harvard to Clarke Field on Saturday for a doubleheader starting at 11:30 a.m. followed by a single contest on Sunday at 12 p.m.
