
Men's Track and Field Qualifies Three Athletes To NCAA Championships After East Regionals

LEXINGTON, KY – The Princeton University men's track and field team had a number of successes at the East Regional Championships, with three athletes qualifying for the national championships in Eugene, Oregon.
"I'm proud of this group," said head coach Jason Vigilante. "This team battled through serious adversity with the weather delays and travel. I'm excited to see these guys compete in Eugene."
Casey Helm led the Tigers with a standout performance in the men's discus. Helm secured his place at the nationals by placing eighth with an impressive throw of 56.81m (186-4).
Joining Helm, Jackson Shorten delivered a remarkable personal best in the 3000m steeplechase. The sophomore ran an incredible time of 8:35.98, earning him a fifth-place finish and a well-deserved spot in Eugene.
Nicholas Bendtsen rounded out the Princeton qualifiers with a gutsy performance in the 5000m. On Friday night, Bendtsen showed tremendous determination, surging into twelfth place in the final stretch with a time of 13:59.82, securing the last qualifying spot.
The anticipation now builds as these three will prepare to showcase their talents in Eugene, OR, in early June.

Men's Hammer Throw: Avery Shunneson threw a distance of 60.29 meters (197-9), securing the 31st place in the competition.
Men's Shot Put: Tyler Konopka achieved a mark of 18.69 meters (61-4), finishing in 14th place. Joe Licata followed closely with a throw of 18.61 meters (61-0.75), earning 16th place.
Men's High Jump: Seb Clatworthy cleared a height of 2.04 meters (6-8.25), placing him 36th.
Men's 200m First Round: Jackson Clarke ran a time of 20.76 seconds, finishing in 25th place. Joey Gant was just behind with a time of 20.79 seconds, placing 27th. Zach Della Rocca completed his run in 21.01 seconds, earning 34th place.
Men's 400m First Round: Xavier Donaldson clocked a time of 46.86 seconds, securing 27th place.
Men's 800m First Round: Sam Rodman ran an impressive 1:48.17, finishing 12th. Harrison Witt also had a strong performance with a time of 1:48.71, placing him 18th.
Men's 5000m: Myles Hogan finished with a time of 14:19.48, placing 29th. Connor Nisbet crossed the line in 14:36.48, earning 40th place.
Men's 10,000m: Connor Nisbet competed in the 10,000m event, finishing with a time of 30:24.40, which placed him 34th.
