
Baseball Falls To Columbia In Doubleheader

A throwing error allowed Matt Scannell to score, giving the Tigers the first run of the game. Skye Selinksy's two-run home run in the bottom of the first put the home team in front. An RBI single from Jack Cooper and sacrifice fly made it 4-1 Columbia in the fifth.
A bases loaded walk by Bryce Gayan cut the Tigers' deficit to two, 4-2, but Eric Jeon countered with a RBI knock in the bottom of the stanza.
Princeton put together a rally in the seventh inning with two out. With two runners on, this Jake Bold double got the Tigers within one.

Sam Miller hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh, giving Columbia an 8-5 advantage.
Following a Kevin Blowers walk, Scannell hit a ball to the moon.

Princeton got two runners in scoring position in the ninth, but a strikeout ended the game.
Koonin had three hits to extend his hitting streak to 16 games while Scannell and Shapiro had two hits each.
Columbia 9, Princeton 1
Columbia scored four times in the second inning highlighted by a home run by Anton Lazits. The Lions put up two more runs in the third and three more in the seventh.
Jordan Kelly's RBI single in the eighth produced the only Tigers' run. Koonin extended his hitting streak to 17 games. Jackson Baldrate threw three scoreless innings in the loss.
Princeton's seed in the Ivy League Tournament has not been decided. Should Cornell and Yale lose one more game, the Tigers will be the No. 2 seed.
