PRINCETON, N.J. – The no. 18 Princeton University men's cross country program will travel to Madison, Wis. to compete in the 2024 Nuttycombe Invitational. The meet will be hosted on the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
The meet will feature an "A" and a "B" race for both genders, with the men's "B" race kicking off at 11:40 a.m. CT (12:40 p.m. ET) and the "A" race beginning at 1 p.m. (2 p.m. ET). Both races will feature an 8k course route.
About the Tigers
Princeton topped the Mid-Atlantic Region in the September 16th USTFCCCA rankings, also picking up a no. 18 ranking in the national coaches' poll. Head Coach Jason Vigilante also received a ranking of 13 in the coaches rankings.
These rankings come after the Tigers had a solid showing at the season-opening New Jersey Jam on September 6th in Princeton, N.J. Sophomore Collin Boler took first place in the 5.6k, clocking in at 16:40.5, while junior Jackson Shorten took second with a time of 16:40.8.
Myles Hogan and Connor McCormick also finished in the top five, claiming fourth (16:44.0) and fifth place (16:44.2), respectively for a near-perfect team score of 16.
In the field of 74, Princeton also claimed finishes seven through 11, with pushers Daniel O'Brien, Harrison Witt,, Nicholas Bendtsen, Weston Brown and Christian Groendyk securing the Tiger victory.
Looking Back at Last Season
Princeton won its 24th Ivy League Cross Country Championship in 2023, also finishing 11th at the NCAA Championships.
Returning senior Nicholas Bendtsen was the top finisher for Princeton, placing fourth and earning him First-Team All-Ivy honors with a time of 24:08.5. At the NCAA Championships, Bendtsen finished 29th overall and earned All-America honors.
At Mid-Atlantic Regionals, senior Dan O'Brien 12th finished with a time of 29:47.2 to earn All-Region Honors. O'Brien also earned Second Team All-Ivy honors after finishing 11th in the XC Ivy Heps with a time of 24:24.7.
The Tigers have welcomed six new cross country runners in the Class of 2028 including Steven Hergenrother, Avery Keith, Jacob Nenow, Alex Niemiec, and brothers Franco and Marcello Parra.

Jason Vigilante is in his second season as head coach and 13th season overall with the Tigers.
Vigilante, the 2023 Ivy League Coach of the Year, has helped the Tigers win seven Ivy League Cross Country Championships (2012, 2014, 2017, 2018, 2021, 2022, 2023) and claim five Triple Crowns (2014-15, 2017-18, 2018-19, 2021-22, 2023-24).
He was named head coach of the program on August 9, 2023.
