Paul and Olnowich Power Princeton To Win Over No. 8/9 Quinnipiac
January 10, 2025 | Women's Ice Hockey
PRINCETON, N.J.- The Bobcats have combined for just two goals in two games against the Tigers. Sarah Paul has scored four on her own against Quinnipiac. A 3-1 comeback victory now stands as the eighth win in a row and tied for the third longest in program history.
Quinnipiac struck first six minutes into the contest on an even strength goal from Tessa Holk on the assist from Emerson Jarvis.
That would be the last puck to hit the back of the net for the Bobcats as Princeton keeper Jennifer Olnowich was a brick wall for the rest of the game.
Princeton was able to tie up the game with a Sarah Paul stunner in the second period that flew past Quinnipiac's Kaley Doyle.
With 1:45 left in the second and momentum on Princeton's side after successfully killing off the Bobcats' power play, Issy Wunder pushed the puck up the ice towards Quinnipiac's goal and into the goal to take the lead.
The Tigers were ready to finish out the game and earn their fourth ranked victory of the season. Tonight fans had it confirmed that the Bobcats kryptonite was a Sarah Paul slapshot. Paul fired in the puck for her second goal of the game and her third multi-goal game in a row.
Quinnipiac forced several shots Olnowich's way but she was not letting anything by her. She blocked 10 shots on goal in the third period alone and made 35 saves in goal in one of her best performances of the season.
Princeton will head to New Haven, Conn. to take on the Yale Bulldogs with the game set for 3:00 PM at Ingalls Rink.
