PRINCETON, N.J. – After dominating last weekend's dual with Navy, the Princeton men's track and field team will visit neighbors Penn for the Quaker Invitational on Friday, January 17th and Saturday, January 18th in Philadelphia.Â
The Navy Dual saw Princeton win with a commanding score of 104-75, as 10 Tigers won individual events and Princeton swept the relays. Several Tigers also found themselves high up on the national NCAA D1 qualifying list in their respective events.
In the long jump, Greg Foster had a mark of 7.83 for a program all-time second-best and a first place finish in the event. His time currently leads the NCAA D1 qualifying list.
Joe Licata set a new personal best in the shot put with a mark of 19.18m to take first place in the event, also putting him at fourth nationally on the NCAA D1 qualifying list.Â
Xavier Donaldson won the 400m with a time of 47.56, which currently ranks 10th nationally.Â
Harrison Witt set a facility record in the 1000m, running 2:19.93 to break the previous record of 2:22.58 set by Navy's Ashwin Briggs in 2021.Â
Before the Navy Dual, Princeton competed at the Rutgers Holiday Classic on Dec. 6 at the Armory in New York.Â
A pair of Tiger DMR squads took first and second at the meet, also landing high up on the national list. Steven Hergenrother, Karl Dietz, Franco Parra and Sam Rodman ran 10:08.06 for the sixth spot nationally. Witt, Joey Gant, Vijay Krishnamoorthi and Alex Niemiec were just behind them, running 10:08.22 for the seventh spot in the national rankings.Â
Last season, Princeton captured its ninth-consecutive and 25th all-time indoor Ivy Heps title with a score of 168, 53 points ahead of second-place Cornell.Â
Head Coach Jason Vigilante is in his second season at the helm of the program and 13th season overall at Princeton. The 2023-24 Ivy Coach of the Year, who also picked up Coaching Staff of the Year honors during the cross country season this fall, will look to coach the Tigers to their sixth Triple Crown during his tenure.Â
