Mudd and Scoot Shine at Quaker Invitational
January 18, 2025 | Women's Track and Field
PHILADELPHIA, PA. – Tessa Mudd and Georgina Scoot found themselves high up on the current NCAA leaderboard as the Princeton women's track and field team competed at the Quaker Invitational on Saturday.
Mudd took second place in the pole vault, clearing an impressive 4.35m for 6th place on the NCAA qualifying list. Picking up where she left off last season, her mark is second in program history only behind her own mark of 4.39 set at the 2024 Ivy Heps.
Scoot also had a strong performance, recording a mark of 13.07 in the triple jump, her highest mark in the event during an indoor season. Scoot's mark earned her third place at the meet and set a new no. 9 on the NCAA qualifying list. She also bested her own second-best program record of 13.03, set at last year's Heps.
First-year Jazmyn Singh continued her impressive debut season with a third place finish in the 500m with a time of 1:13.48, landing her in the fifth spot all-time in school history.
In the 200m, Brooke Jackson set a new PR, running a swift 24.51 for third place, which now ranks 82nd nationally and ninth in Princeton history. Adelaide Asante took fourth with a time of 24.59.
Giselle Kirchner set a new personal best in the 60m hurdles, clocking in at 8.67 in the final and 8.66 in the prelim for a new ninth-best program record.
Mirtel Klaar (9.03) and Shea Burke (9.11) set new personal records in the 60m hurdles, while Franziska Burchett (7.82) and Soraya Patterson (8.09) also set new PRs in the 60m dash.
The Tigers will look to build on this strong performance next weekend with the Dr. Sander Invitational, hosted by Columbia at the Armory in New York City.
