PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton women's track and field team will travel to The Armory for the second time this season to compete in the Dr. Sander Invitational, hosted by Columbia.
Last weekend, the Tigers competed at the Quaker Invitational in Philadelphia, with Tessa Mudd and Georgina Scoot finding themselves high up on the current NCAA leaderboard.
Mudd took second place in the pole vault, clearing an impressive 4.35m for 9th place on the NCAA qualifying list. Picking up where she left off last season, her mark is second in program history only behind her own mark of 4.39 set at the 2024 Ivy Heps.
Scoot also had a strong performance, recording a mark of 13.07 in the triple jump, her highest mark in the event during an indoor season. Scoot's mark earned her third place at the meet and is now ranked 15th on the NCAA qualifying list. She also bested her own second-best program record of 13.03, set at last year's Heps.
First-year Jazmyn Singh continued her impressive debut season with a third place finish in the 500m with a time of 1:13.48, landing her in the fifth spot all-time in school history. Singh also won the 400m at Navy with a mark of 56.20, and set a new school record in the 300m (39.04), which she ran in her collegiate debut at the Rutgers Holiday Classic on December 6.
Before the Quaker Invite, Princeton won the Navy Dual last weekend with a final score of 104-75, with the Tigers winning 12 of 14 individual events and taking one relay. Hannah Riggins set a new facility and program record, running the 1000m in 2:45.87. In the 500m, Maisha Atkinson ran a blazing 1:12.48 for an all-time program second-best, and in the long jump, Georgina Scoot won with a mark of 6.26 which currently holds the 16th spot nationally.
Also making the NCAA leaderboard, Mena Scatchard represented Princeton individually at the BU Sharon Colyear-Danvile Season Opener in Boston on December 6, where she ran a time of 9:00.86 for a new personal best and a 15th place finish at the meet, also setting a new program record. Scatchard currently ranks 10th nationally in the 3000m on the D1 NCAA Qualifying list.
Princeton is coming off an Ivy Cross Country Championship title win in November, the program's 10th all-time and first since 2015.
During last year's indoor season, the Tigers took second place at Ivy Heps with a total of 134 points from four individual Ivy championships, one relay championship, and four new school records.
The Tigers are led by Michelle Eisenreich, in her ninth season as head coach after joining the program in 2016. She has coached eight Tigers to All-America honors along with over 30 individual Ivy titles and multiple NCAA appearances.
