DMR Squad Shines at Day One of Dr. Sander Invitational

NEW YORK, N.Y. – With a Tiger DMR squad setting a new NCAA second-best time, the Princeton women's track and field program had a strong showing on day one of the Dr. Sander Invitational, hosted by Columbia at the Armory.
Hannah Riggins, Mena Scatchard, Jazmyn Singh and Lexi Allen ran a blazing 11:17.58 for a new third-best in Princeton history. Their time also ranks second on the current NCAA D1 qualifying list.
Riggins had a day, also running 2:05.71 in the 800m for seventh in the nation and fourth at the meet. Her time is also a new personal best.
The throwers had a solid performance, with Angela McAuslan Kelly throwing 19.05m in the weight throw for second-best in the Ivy League. Siniru Iheoma threw 17.41m for a league fourth-best.
Maisha Atkinson won first place in the seeded 400m, clocking in at 55.40 for a new PR.
In the 60m hurdles, Mirtel Klaar claimed the top spot with a time of 8.81, also setting a new personal best.
Georgina Scoot won the triple jump with a mark of 12.94m. Alexandra Kelly was close behind her with 12.37m for second.
Adelaide Asante qualified for tomorrow's finals of the open 60mH with a prelim time of 8.72, slightly improving on her time in the 60mH invitational with a time of 8.63.
Brooke Jackson qualified for the 60m finals with her qualifying time of 7.71, before going on to run 7.60 in the final for a new season best. Her time also ties for sixth in Princeton's all-time records.
Tomorrow, the Tigers will take the track at the Armory again for day two of the Dr. Sander Invitational, with the action starting at 9:20 a.m.
