
Two Pins, Four Tech Falls Highlight Princeton's 42-3 Victory Over Clarion

CLARION, PA. – With a dominant victory that featured two Tiger pins and four tech falls, the Princeton wrestling team defeated the Clarion Golden Eagles, 42-3, on Sunday afternoon on the road in Pennsylvania.
First-years Marc-Anthony McGowan and Dan Jones each recorded falls on the day, with #25/23 McGowan earning his in just 44 seconds.
First-year Xavier Giles started the dual meet in the 174 class, putting the Tigers up with a tech fall in 4:07. Kole Mulhauser followed up his performance with a tech fall of his own in 6:12. #16/19 Luke Stout was next to get in on the mix, earning another tech fall (6:34) in the senior captain's first bout since December 6. After the first three bouts, the Tigers sustained a 15-0 lead.
Sebastian Garibaldi gutted out a close bout with Austin Chapman, ultimately taking the decision 2-0 to add to the Tiger lead.
McGowan's blowout fall victory followed, immediately succeeded by Jones with his own fall in just 2:57.
#6/8 Ty Whalen was next to add to the Tiger lead, earning Princeton's fourth tech fall of the day and adding to the sophomore's undefeated record this season, now 11-0.
Closing in on the last two bouts, Jacob Mann earned a commanding major decision, 8-0, before Blaine Bergey battled out an 11-4 decision to end the match.
With the victory, Princeton now improves to 4-5 in dual meets this season and 3-1 on the road.
