About the Tigers
Last weekend saw several Tigers shake up the school record books, as Mena Scatchard smashed the program record in the mile, running 4:32.95 in the pro-elite section. Her time ranks seventh on the NCAA qualifying list.
Her performance cleared the previous Princeton record of 4:36.53, set by Maddie Liebich '24 at last year's BU Valentine Invite.
Adelaide Asante, Lauren Harris, Jazmyn Singh and Maisha Atkinson ran a blazing 4x400 relay in 3:43.37, the third-fastest time in program history.
A DMR squad of Hannah Riggins, Mena Scatchard, Jazmyn Singh and Lexi Allen clocked in at 11:17.58 for a new third-best in Princeton history. Their time also ranks second on the current NCAA D1 qualifying list.
Riggins also ran 2:05.71 in the 800m for 14th in the nation and fourth at the meet. Her time is also a new personal best and is third-best in school history.
In addition to her mile record, Scatchard holds the Princeton record in the 3000m with her time of 9:00.86 set at the BU Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in December. Her time puts her at 11th on the NCAA qualifying list.
The Tigers have been strong in the field events too, with Georgina Scoot coming in at 19th on the NCAA qualifying list in the triple jump (42-10.75/13.07) and 21st (20-6.5/6.26)in the long jump.
Tessa Mudd ranks 12th nationally with her mark of 14-3.5/4.36m in the pole vault.
Looking Back
Princeton is coming off an Ivy Cross Country Championship title win in November, the program's 10th all-time and first since 2015.
During last year's indoor season, the Tigers took second place at Ivy Heps with a total of 134 points from four individual Ivy championships, one relay championship, and four new school records.
The Tigers are led by Michelle Eisenreich, in her ninth season as head coach after joining the program in 2016. She has coached eight Tigers to All-America honors along with over 30 individual Ivy titles and multiple NCAA appearances.
