All 16 Players Score, Men's Basketball Triumphs Over Kean 92-71 In Non-Conference Finale

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University men's basketball team wrapped up non-conference play with a 92-71 victory over Kean, Saturday afternoon inside Gymnasium in a contest where all 16 players made at least one field goal.

While the Cougars raced out to a 12-7 lead with 15:29 remaining in the half, a Hicke layup ignited a 7-0 run that put Princeton in front, 14-12, with 14:06 on the clock after a three-pointer by senior Blake Peters. A 7-0 Kean run gave the Cougars a 21-18 advantage with 11:28 left in the half, but the Tigers bounced back to take a 24-21 lead at 10:13 after a three-pointer by sophomore Dalen Davis then a freshman CJ Happy three-point play.

The momentum soon swung the Tigers' way, with a layup by Jacob Huggins igniting an 8-0 run that gave Princeton a double figure lead at 35-25 with 5:01 on the clock. A layup by junior Jack Scott at 2:44 led a 7-0 run that put Princeton up, 47-29, with 1:40 on the clock and the Tigers took a 49-36 advantage into halftime.

Princeton remained in control through the second half, with four straight free throws by Happy giving the Tigers a 62-45 advantage with 13:15 remaining. Shortly after, Princeton went up 19 after a freshman Jack Stanton three-pointer with 11:54 left to play.

With 5:12 left to play, a three-pointer by Seals ignited a 7-0 run, with all points coming from Seals, and the Tigers went up 85-63. Freshman Zio Kim scored his first college points with a three-pointer with 0:24 remaining and the Tigers would prevail, 92-71.

Senior Philip Byriel led the Tigers in scoring with 14 points on 5-for-8 shooting from the field and 3-for-5 from three. He also added three rebounds and two assists. Freshman Peyton Seals added 13 points on 4-for-5 shooting, five rebounds, three steals and two assists while sophomore Jackson Hicke contributed 12 points on 6-for-10 shooting, four rebounds, three assists and two steals."For them to be able to shine, hit some big shots at the end of the game and get the crowd into it means the world to us."
