A – Away
Princeton is 5-0 in away games this season and 5-3 in home games. Princeton’s road wins have been over Northwestern (No. 5 RPI), Yale (No. 10), Rutgers (No. 18), Maryland (No. 21) and Dartmouth (No. 51).
B – Brown
Brown has multiple scenarios for clinching an Ivy League tournament berth. The most straightforward way would be with a win over Princeton, which would assure the Bears join Harvard and Princeton, who have already clinched spots.
C – Caitlin
Caitlin Thompson has five goals, all within the last four games, including two-goal games against both Dartmouth and Monmouth. Thompson started the season 0 for 11 shooting and is now 5 for 9 since.
D – D-Plus
Olivia Caponiti was named the NFHCA Division I Defensive Player of the Week this past week after making 12 saves while allowing three goals in wins over Northwestern, Cornell and Monmouth. Caponiti was named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week as well, while Beth Yeager won league offensive honors. It was the second time this season that both were honored by the league in the same week.
E – Every
Beth Yeager leads every Ivy player in points this season with 25 (nine goals, seven assists). Brown has three players in the top 11: Lexi Pellegrino (fourth, 23 points), Mia Karine Myklebust (seventh, 20) and Lucy Adams (11th, 16).
F – Forwards
After starting the season a combined 1 for 36 (.028) shooting, Princeton’s forwards have since shot 14 for 54 (.269). In other words, since that 1 for 36 start, Princeton’s forwards have scored one goal for every four shots.
G – Goals
Princeton has scored at least three goals in each of its last four games. The last time Princeton had a streak as long was when it scored at least three goals in five straight games in 2021.
H – Histories
Princeton leads the all-time series with Brown 38-8-1 and trails the all-time series with Penn State 28-13.

I – Ivy League
The Ivy League has five teams ranked in the top 14 of the current RPI: No. 2 Princeton, No. 3 Harvard, No. 10 Yale, No. 11 Penn and No. 14 Brown.
J – Just The Facts
Beth Yeager ranks sixth all-time at Princeton with 138 points and is tied for fifth in career goals with 53. With one more goal, she would join Kirsty Hale as the only Princeton players ever with at least 54 career goals and 32 career assists. Yeager and UNC’s Ryleigh Heck are the only two in the top five in both career goals and career assists among active Division I players.
K – Korners
Both Princeton and Brown have a big advantage over their opponents in penalty corners. Brown has out-cornered its opponents 88-55; Princeton has done so 84-65.
L – Leaders
Princeton is led by three captains for the 2025 season: seniors Ella Hampson and Beth Yeager and junior Ella Cashman. Yeager is now the 18th player in program history to be a two-time captain.
M – Molly
Molly Nye had one career goal in her first 28 career games. She now has a goal in four of the last five games.
N – NFHCA Poll
Princeton is a season-best fifth in this week’s NFHCA coaches’ poll. Brown is ranked 19th this week.
O – Offense
Princeton has averaged 3.3 goals per game in its last six games after averaging 1.7 goals per game for the first seven. Princeton scored 12 goals in its first seven games and has 20 in the last six.

P – Pru
Pru Lindsey did not have a point in the first eight games of the year. She has three goals and four assists in the last five games.
Q – Quite A Stat
Princeton has started at least two freshmen in every game since the start of the 2023 season.
R – RPI
Princeton is the No. 2 team in the current RPI rankings, with wins over No. 5 Northwestern, No. 10 Yale, No. 11 Penn, No. 16 Monmouth, No. 17 UConn, No. 18 Rutgers, No. 21 Maryland, No. 24 Cornell, No. 35 Old Dominion and No. 51 Dartmouth. Princeton’s three losses are to No. 1 North Carolina, No. 3 Harvard and No. 9 Syracuse.
S – Shots
Princeton’s last three opponents (Northwestern, Cornell, Monmouth) have averaged 12.7 shots per game. Princeton’s first 10 opponents averaged 7.1 shots per game. Princeton had a season-high 30 shots of its own in the win over Monmouth.
T – Tigers
Princeton has seven players who have started every game of their career: Ella Cashman, Anna Faulstich, Clem Houlden, Saylor Milone, Ottilie Sykes, Caitlin Thompson, Beth Yeager.
U – USA
Princeton was well-represented with USA Field Hockey this past summer. Beth Yeager, a 2024 Olympian, won a silver medal at the Pan Am Cup in Uruguay, scoring four goals in the tournament. Talia Schenck also won silver and also scored four goals, at the Junior Pan Am Games in Paraguay. Assistant coach Pat Harris was a silver medalist with the USA men’s team at the Pan Am Cup.
V – Vietnam
Princeton’s Clem Houlden and Molly Nye spent the summer in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam as part of the Coach For College program. Houlden taught biology and coached volleyball to middle schoolers, while Nye taught English and coached volleyball at a different middle school.
W – Winning
Princeton’s Ivy League championship a year ago was the 28th in program history, which is tied with Harvard women’s squash for the most by any Ivy women’s team in any sport in league history.
X – X-Factor
Princeton had six players on the NFHCA preseason Watchlist: Ella Cashman, Anna Faulstich, Clem Houlden, Talia Schenck, Ottilie Sykes, Beth Yeager.
Y – Yeager
Beth Yeager is a three-time first-team All-American selection; no Ivy League player has ever been a four-time first-team All-American. She’s also a three-time Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year.
Z – Zinger
Princeton has not failed to reach the NCAA tournament in consecutive years since 1992-93. That streak will continue through this year, as the Tigers reached the NCAA quarterfinals a year ago.
