Sykes, Morgan Earn Ivy League Weekly Honors
October 27, 2025 | Field Hockey
Even a team that is just that — a team — it's always fun to have some individual honors roll in for the beginning of the new week In the case of the Princeton field hockey team, the bigger question was which players it would be, since pretty much any of them could have been nominated.
After a weekend that saw seven different Princeton players score at least one goal and a team defense that held two opponents to a total of 10 shots, the Ivy League awards fell to Ottilie Sykes on defense and Izzy Morgan on offense.
Sykes was part of a rarity, a three-way tie in the voting for Ivy Defensive Player of the Week, along with Linde Burger of Harvard and Hettie Whittington of Yale. Morgan was the lone offensive player after she scored a goal in each of the two games, a 2-1 win at Brown and a 6-1 home win against Penn State.
Princeton plays Saturday at home against Columbia (noon) before heading to Harvard for the Ivy League tournament. Princeton could still get a share of the ivy title, if the Tigers defeat Columbia and Harvard falls to Yale.

Morgan, a sophomore, had one career goal prior to the weekend before having one in each game. In addition to her contribution defensively, Sykes also had a goal against Penn State.Still owe you three penalty corner goals, but Izzy gets into the act with this blast. Penn State did answer, so it's 6-1 Tigers with 10 min left.
