November 19, 2025 | Women's Basketball
PRINCETON – The Princeton Women's Basketball Team allowed just two baskets in the fourth quarter to take down the Rice Owls, 69-56, at Jadwin Gym on Wednesday evening.
The Tigers ran off eight of 10 to begin the fourth stanza to jump in front, 58-52, with 5:59 left in the game.
After the two teams exchanged buckets, Princeton ripped off nine straight to extend its lead to 15, 69-54, to put the contest away. The home team shot 8-of-15 (53.3 percent) in the final 10 minutes while holding Rice to 2-of-12 (16.7 percent) during that stretch.
Madison St. Rose led the Tigers with 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting while Fadima Tall secured 16 points, six boards and four dimes. Skye Belker had a season-high 15 points on 6-of-10 from the floor in the victory.
Rice began the game with a 10-3 sprint and eventually held a 16-11 lead following the first stanza. The Tigers responded with 10 consecutive points to make it 26-20, forcing a Rice timeout with under five minutes to go in the first half.
The Owls pushed out 11 of 15 to end the half, taking 34-30 advantage into the locker room. Head coach Carla Berube's team used a 7-2 run to jump ahead, 47-44, in the third frame, but Rice rolled off six of eight to lead 50-49 after 30 minutes.
Princeton improves to 3-1 overall while Rice drops to 2-2. The Tigers head to the Bahamas for the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament this weekend.
