4x400 Squad Sets New Program Record at Tyson Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, A.R. – Jon York, Joey Gant, Karl Dietz and Xavier Donaldson set a new school record in the 4x400 relay at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville on Saturday.
The squad ran a time of 3:07.16, with Donaldson running a blistering 46.18 final split to help the Tigers ahead. Gant also ran a sub-47 leg, with his split clocking in at 46.51.
The performance broke the previous Princeton record of 3:08.14, set by Gant, Jackson Clarke, Dietz and Donaldson just weeks ago at the Penn 10 Elite meet. The time is also a new NCAA #28.
Casey Helm also had a huge performance in the shot put, throwing a new personal best of 18.56m/60-10.75 for sixth all-time in the Princeton records. The mark puts him at 39th nationally.
Joey Gant took ninth in the 200m with a strong performance of 21.07, his second-best time in the event indoors during his career.
On day one of the Tyson Invitational yesterday, York took fourth in the 400 with a new personal best time of 47.46. In the 400 invitational, Donaldson took 20th with a time of 47.05.
Greg Foster also took seventh in the long jump with a mark of 7.80/25-7.25.

Princeton will close out the regular season with trips back to Boston and Philadelphia for the BU DMR Challenge and the Philadelphia Metro Meet next Saturday, February 21st.
