Baseball Drops Doubleheader To Miami

CORAL GABLES, Fla.- The Princeton Tigers faced the Miami Hurricanes for the second and third games of the weekend series. Jake Bold worked to create a spark with a two run blast in the top of the first.
Starting pitcher Andrew D'Alessio kept the Hurricanes at bay before Miami broke through in the bottom of the third with six runs.
Elliott Eaton came in for relief in the fourth and tossed three innings of work as Miami built its lead to 10 as the game entered the bottom of the seventh.
Kaden Kram and Richard Ferrer-Westrop did not surrender any runs in the next two innings.
Jake Koonin hit a one-out triple to put a runner in scoring position and touched home on a sacrifice fly before the game ended with a score of 10-3.
Miami kept up the momentum for the second matchup of the doubleheader with 10 runs through the first three innings.
Nick Shenefelt pitched a scoreless inning in the bottom of the fifth.
Dylan Zdunek and Kevin Blowers knocked back to back doubles to get a run on the board in the sixth but Blowers was left stranded.
The Hurricanes added five more runs to the scoresheet to finish out the game 15-1.
The Tigers will make one last trip to Mark Light Field for the final game of the four game series which is set for 1:00 PM.
