No. 13/14 Women’s Hockey Drops First Game Of ECAC Quarterfinals

HAMILTON, N.Y.- The Princeton women's hockey team made the trip up to the Class of 1965 Arena for the ECAC quarterfinals to take on the Colgate Raiders.
The home team found the back of the net quickly in the first period as Elyssa Biederman's shot slid just past Jennifer Olnowich's stick. Two more goals from Biederman gave Colgate a 3-0 lead just under eight minutes into the contest.
Issy Wunder ended the Raiders' shutout on a top shelf goal that stood after review in the second period.
Colgate's Kaia Malachino added the Raiders' fourth goal with 7:26 left in the second.
Unwilling to go quietly, Brooklyn Nimegeers netted her second tally on a Princeton power play to cut the lead to two.
The Tigers went with the empty net to put an extra player on the offensive attack, but Alexis Petford pushed home the final goal of the game for a score of 5-2.
Game two of the quarterfinals will take place tomorrow at 6:00 PM at the Class of 1965 Arena.
