Men's Track and Field Shines in Another Record-Breaking Weekend with Penn Classic, East Coast Invite

PHILADELPHIA, P.A. – Jackson Clarke set a new program record in the 200m during another record-breaking weekend for the Tigers at the Penn Classic in Philadelphia. The Tiger throwers also competed at the East Coast Invitational in Virginia Beach, while Greg Foster represented Princeton at the prestigious Millrose Games.
Clarke ran a blazing 20.86 to break the previous Princeton record of 21.02, set by Ibrahim Ayorinde '23 at 2022 Heps. His time is also a new NCAA #21.
Also in the 200m, Joey Gant took second, clocking in at 21.06 for new third-best time in Princeton history, a new #60 on the NCAA qualifying list and a new season best.
First-year Jadon Spain set not one, but two PRs today in the 60m, first running a 6.76 prelim before running a 6.74 final to win the event as the Tigers earned a 1-2-3 sweep.
Clarke set a new season best, clocking in at 6.76 for second place, and Joey Gant took third with a PR time of 6.86.
Harrison Witt continued a dominant season, setting a new facility record and a new PR in the 800m with a time of 1:47.42. His time ranks 17th nationally and is a new second-best in the program record book.
Connor McCormick was just behind him in second with a new PR of 1:48.08, now third in school history, while Rodman, the current Princeton record holder in the 800m, set a new season best with a 1:48.58 finish.
Myles Hogan won the 3000m with a time of 8:04.39 for a new personal best
The Tigers also earned a 1-2-3 sweep in the 400m as Xavier Donaldson took first with a time of 46.89 for a new season best and a new NCAA #45. Jonathan York and Karl Dietz were behind him with two PRs of 47.61 and 47.74.
Nicholas Bendtsen set a new PR in the 1000m, running 2:26.35, while Collin Boler set a new PR in the mile with 4:00.08 for third place in the event.
Easton Tan took second in the 60mH, setting a new personal best with a time of 7.92.
Jacob Emerson set a new PR in the pole vault with a mark of 4.87/15-11.75 for second place in the event.
A Princeton squad of Kavon Miller, Isa Hitchens, York and Dietz took third in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:12.33, entering the top 10 in program history. York ran a blazing 46.84 split to help the Tigers ahead in the relay.
At the East Coast Invitational down in Virginia Beach, Joe Licata threw 62' 1½"/18.94m in the shot put for fourth in the event. Casey Helm took seventh with a mark of 59' 8¾"/18.21m.
Asher Robbins took seventh in the weight throw, throwing 60' 4¾"/18.41m.
At the Millrose Games against some of the best elite athletes in the nation, Greg Foster took eighth place in the 60mH with a time of 7.99.

Princeton will look to break more records next weekend as the Tigers split up and hit the road. Most of the squad will head to Boston for the BU David Hemery Valentine and BC Eagle Elite Invitationals on Friday, February 14, while a cohort will head to Arkansas for the Tyson Invitational on the 14th and 15th.
