PRINCETON, N.J. – After starting the outdoor season with the Penn Challenge last weekend, the Princeton women's track and field team will head down the shore to compete in the Monmouth Season Opener in West Long Branch, N.J. on March 28 and 29.
In Philadelphia, the Tigers won two events, with several setting personal records. Maisha Atkinson won the 100m dash with a time of 11.90, setting a new personal record in the event.
The Tigers had a strong day in the field events. In her first collegiate outdoor meet, Jana Ter Wee also won the women's shot put with a throw of 13.20m/43-0.75". Shantell Kwofie set a new personal best in the javelin, throwing 32.66m/107-02".
Kwofie also took second in the 400 hurdles, clocking in at 1:03.52. Lily Parris was just behind her with a time of 1:04.81 to take third place.
In the 4x400, a Princeton group of Adelaide Asante, Kwofie, Lauren Harris and Atkinson ran a time of 3:50.03 for first at the meet.
Princeton enters the outdoor season looking to complete the Triple Crown after winning the Ivy Cross Country Championship this Fall and winning the Ivy Indoor title this winter. The titles marked the program's first since 2015 in cross country, and first since 2011 for indoors.
