No. 2 Men's Lightweight Rowing Retains Campbell Cup Against No. 10 Columbia
March 29, 2025 | Men's Rowing - Lightweight
PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 2 Princeton University men's lightweight rowing team retained the Campbell Cup against Columbia Saturday afternoon at Lake Carnegie.
"Coach Burke and I are very happy with our top three boats coming away with wins today," said Head Coach Marty Crotty. "We threw a lot at the guys this week in training while still sorting out the lineups.
We were able to win by some bigger margins than usual today, but Columbia has definitely had their share of Campbell Cup wins so we don't take any of it for granted.
We're looking forward to tomorrow and participating in the second half of the greatest display of lightweight men's rowing in the history of our sport."
The Tigers' 1V crossed the finish line in 5:49.0 to retain the Campbell Cup. The Lion's 1V trailed, finishing in 6:01.6.
Princeton's 2V (6:06.1) also defeated Columbia (6:17.8), as did the 3V (6:21.6). Columbia's 3V clocked in at 6:39.6; the two boats were joined by Princeton's 4V, who finished with a time of 6:49.5.
